The Salt Lake Herald for the 24th inst. contained an excellent picture of our venerable and respected postmaster and the old post-office, followed by this discription: 'The above is a picture of Utah's oldest old-est postmaster and the oldest postollice in the State. The former is John Pymm, and the latter is his postollice at St. George. Mr. Pymm is 84 years of age, hale and hearty and a simon-pure simon-pure Democrat. He was appointed postmaster at St. George in 1801. and has filled the position ever since, being the present incumbent. The postollice was built in 1862, and was the first building erected in the state for that purpose.'' |
