Show PIXE VALLEY. R. B. Gardner, George A. Burgess and Willard Burgess just returned from a tour to the White River valley, where two of our citizens have lately located. Mrs. Robert Gray gave birth to twins on the 26th ult. One of them was stillborn. This one, together with a three-days-old babe of Mrs. Nathaniel Gardner was buried Thursday. Rejoice ye inhabitants of Pine Valley, Val-ley, and give ear ye surrounding people, peo-ple, for behold old winter has settled over our rock-ribbed hills and enveloped envelop-ed our sand-paved valley with a robe of white. The parched ground is drinking drink-ing up the watery white stuff with avidity and nature will no doubt respond re-spond with a smiling- face. Had all the snow lain on the ground that has fallen since the 27th ult., it Would have been -two feet deep. It it still snowing with a vim, on this, the 1st of May, and gives no indication of a cessation for some time to come. The farmers are jubilant, and the cattle men rejoicing at the good times coming. Altitude of this valley G,800 feet. Past week very snowy and windy. Plum trees in full bloom, apples not yet in blossom. |
