Show A Picaccnt Surprise. Abhen Charles A. Terry returned home from the Temple on Friday, the 10th inst., a welcome surprise was given him by a gathering of relatives and friends to the number of thirty-eight in honor of his seventy-eighth birthday. The affair had been engineered by his wife, Lmeline, and daughter. Elizabeth Blair, and was in every way a, complete success. The tables were spread with an abundance of tho good things of life, and peace, happiness and contentment reigned supreme. None enjoyed the occasion more than the honored guest. A suit of clothes and many other nice presents were received, by the old gentleman as marks of esteem from those clear to him. Some verses com-; posed by his daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Blair, were read: and Pro. Terry was so moved that he sang a song, something some-thing unusual for him to do. The happy gathering disbanded about 1 a. rm, after having spent a very enjoyable enjoy-able time. Alexander Milne returned from Cedar Ciiy. where he has beeu ,vork-ing ,vork-ing for sonic time, Tuesday. |
