Show FIFTY THOUSAND MORE. Volunteers at Manila Will Be Mustered Out. Washington, Dee. 22. The cabinet has decided that existing conditions justify a further reduction of the military mili-tary forces of the United States, and the secretary of war was instructed to arrange for the immediate muster out of 50,000 volunteers. The details for the execution of this order have not yet been arranged. Several of the volunteer orders in the Philippines undoubtedly un-doubtedly will be included in the number. Nothing definite has been decided by the war department as to the regiments regi-ments which will be included in the 50,000 volunteers to be mustered out. It is said, however, that they will be distributed as ecjuitably as possible among the several states and in a general gen-eral way the first regiments mustered in will be the first to go out. |
