Show SANTA CLARA, Alex Findlay of Kanab is visiting relatives and friends here. Ado ph. Hafen returned home from the Swiss mission field on the 19th inst. lie reports that he enjoyed his labors. Messrs. Ed Pv. Frei and Adolph Hafen, Misses Nellie Atkin, Freda Reber, and Rosilla Whittwer compose the committee com-mittee for the old folk's party. Born a daughter to the wife of Geo. Tobler on the 19th inst., all well; also, a daughter to Jacob and Kate Laub, on the 19th inst., mother and child doing well. For Christmas On the evening of December 24th an entertainment was given at the school house, which was decorated with Chinese lanterns, etc. A large Christmas tree was laden with presents for the children, which were distributed by Fred Pveber, Jr., who acted as Santa Clause. The entertainment entertain-ment consisting of songs, music, dialogues, dia-logues, etc. On the 20th, at 7 a. m., the brass and string bands serenaded the town: at 10 a. m. an entertaiument consisting con-sisting of songs, music, etc., was carried car-ried out; at 2 p. m. the children had a dance: a game of baseball, married vs. single, was played, the married men losing, for which they will have to put up a new ball; there was also some horse-racing, Kauch being the winning horse; at 7:30 p. m. a grand ball was given the adults: the committee deserve credit for energetic management.
