Show ENTERPRISE Mrs. Theresa Huntsman Reporter Mrs. Rose Hartquist, came from California last week to visit with her mother, Mrs. Sarah Morris and her two children, who have been . living here with their aunt, Mrs. Mary Holt for several months. She left Tuesday for Iowa, taking her little daughter, Lorene with her. Her husband, who is a government radio man in Honolulu is being transferred to Iowa, where they expect to make thier home. The other child, Don, will remain here and finish the school year. Mr. and Mrs. Durward Terry made a business trip to Los Angeles An-geles last week. Mrs. Chester Graff and son, Wesley, came Sunday to visit with Mrs. Graff's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther M. Terry. Wesley Wes-ley is leaving soon to join the armed forces and came to see his grandparents, before leaving. They left Wednesday for their home in Provo. Joseph E. Jones of Enterprise and Maude Aseneth Stevens Jones of Enoch were married in the St. George Temple last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Truman left Tuesday for a short trip to Los Angeles. The Enterprise high school basketball bas-ketball team went to Panaca for a practice game. Mrs. Amos Hall went to Las Vegas Wednesday morning to visit with her husband, who is in the hospital there. Monday night a farewell party was given in the gymnasium for Elwood Thomas, Blaine Bosshardt and Jessie Jones, who have been inducted into the Army and will leave this week end. The usual good time was enjoyed by a large crowd of people. A good program, dancing and a luncheon were enjoyed. en-joyed. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilson of Las Vegas attended the farewell party for the soldiers, held here Monday night. Mrs. Wilson was formerly Helena Thomas, sister of Elwood Thomas. Quarterly Conference Held The Uvada stake held their quarterly conference here last Sunday. Apostle Charles A. Callis of the Council of the Twelve Apostles was present to represent repre-sent the general authorities. Pres. Daniel J. Ronnow, Counselor Harvey Sprague ' and Clifford Huntington of the Uvada stake presidency were also present. Meetings started at 9 o'clock and continued throughout the day. Apostle Callis occupied a large portion of the time at all of the meetings. He gave the people some good instructions and advice relative to the' welfare work, their duty as parents and as good citizens. At the evening meeting he spent the time instructing and warning the young people. |
