Show Woodward 'Buy A Jeep' Drive Goes Over the Top The Woodward 'high school really went to town Tuesday, climaxing their "Buy A Jeep" bond drive with a dance at night in the gym. During the day and at the dance, students sold war bonds in the amount of $2,250.00 and $225 in war stamps, to bring their total to $4998.00, with the $2473.00 sold during the six weeks of the drive. Principal Newell R. Frei says they surely have been working. tko "Rnv A .TeeD" drive is the assignment to high schools from Secretary Morganthau, and the Woodward students have taken the job seriously. Each school was supposed to buy one jeep. The $4998 means the Woodward has sold enough bonds and stamps for four land jeeps or for one amphibious jeep and one land jeep. This does not -mean a record rec-ord of stamps and bonds owned by students, but what they have sold at the school in six weeks, says Principal Frei.' |
