Show Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Grace Elizabeth Chestnut Cox HURRICANE, Utah. Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Elizabeth Chestnut Cox, 71, who died at her home in Hurricane Monday, Nov. 29, were held in the stake chapel Friday at 3 p.m., with Bishop Allen Stout conducting. The music program included a violin solo, "In the Garden of Tomorrow", by Gwynn Bradshaw, accompanied by Donna Sandberg; vocal duet, "It Was for Me", Mrs. Walter Brooks and Clinton Isom, with Irene Hinton at the piano; vocal duet, "Lay My Head Beneath Be-neath the Rose", Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Beatty. First speaker was Joel J. Roundy, who has had lifelong associations as-sociations with the deceased and told of her faithful, kindly and religious life. He also sermonized sermon-ized on the Gospel, and on the plan of eternal salvation, based on scriotural evidence and quotations, quota-tions, and telling of the worthiness worthi-ness of the deceased to participate partici-pate in the fulfilment of these promises. Claud Hirschi, former stake president, was the concluding speaker, paying tribute to the deceased de-ceased as an excellent character, a faithful wife and mother, a kind neighbor and a good citizen. The family has endured many hardships," hard-ships," including that of being driven from their homes at tne time of the revolution in Mexico, but have re-built their lives in this country, said the speaker. Attention was called to the presence of one grandson who has returned recently from active duty in the combat area, and mention was made of her love and respect for him and his kindness kind-ness to her. Prayers were by Alvin Larson and Orval Webb and burial was in the Hurricane cemetery. |
