Show Large Crowd Attends Funeral Service For Annis Blair Moss The St. George South ward chapel was packed to capacity Tuesday, April 14 at 4:30 p.m., for the funeral services of Annis Blair Moss, 35, wife of Carl Lenzi Moss, who died in a Salt Lake City hospital hos-pital at 2 a. m., Sunday, where she was taken Friday night for treatment of cerebral tumor. Bishop Andrew McArthur presided and Counselor E. Ellis Everett conducted the services, with Mrs. Ada Cannon at the pipe organ. Musical Numbers Given Musical numbers included two quartets, "Sometimes We'll Understand", Under-stand", and "Lead Me Gently Home"; with Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Graff, Mrs. Elfreda Thompson and Wm. T. Morris Jr., singing; solo, "O My Father", Vernon Worthen, and, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives", by Leland Lamoreaux. Pres. Harold S. Snow expressed the love and esteem of St. George Temple workers for the association of the deceased and her good husband hus-band during the past four years, and paid tribute to the couple and their respectable family who are meeting their problems as befits be-fits those who have faith in God and in eternal life. R. W. Seaman spoke in behalf of the St. George stake missionaries mission-aries with whom Mr. Moss has been associated for more than two years, and told of the excellent cooperation of his wife in this work, of her great testimony and her faithfulness, reading from the writings of the late Apostle Mel-vin Mel-vin J. Ballard regarding the eternal etern-al plan of human salvation. William A. Whitehead, a close friend and neighbor paid beautiful tribute to Mrs. Moss and her family, and told of her restoration from blindness and her capacity to turn sorrow and suffering into joy, and accomplishment, which is more worthy than other accomplishments accom-plishments ,he said. Prayers were by Gus Pendleton and Archie D. Wallis, two close neighbors and the grave in the St. George City cemetery was dedicated by John H. Schmutz of the Center ward bishopric. Bom In St. George Annis Blair Moss was born in St. George March 16, 1907, a daughter of Frances Albert and Louise Booth Blair. She attended the public schools of St. George and was married Sept. 16, 1923 in the St. George Temple to Carl Lenzi Moss. They are the parents of four children, all of whom, with their father, are living, three daughters, daugh-ters, Loa, Betty Lou and Ila Jane and one son, Carl L. Moss Jr. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Herbert Beck, Salt Lake City and Mrs. Halvin Fair, Provo; and five brothers, James A. Blair, Orem; Delmar, Lamond and Glenn Blair, Los Angeles; and Sgt. Sheldon Shel-don Blair, Camp Cook, Calif. All were present for the services, the men, accompanied by their wives. Also present to attend the services serv-ices were Mrs. William Moss and Gilbert Moss of Salt Lake City, Edgar Moss of Murray; Capt. and Mrs. Clarence Moss of Los Angeles, Ange-les, and Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Shurtz of Draper. |
