Show I BIMERYILLE, Nev. ! Mrs. Mary H. Leavitt I Reporter (Held Over from Last Week) Graduation exercises of Valley high were held here on May 12. Prof. Stainer of the University of Nevada addressed the graduates. Lola Mae Pollock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Pollock was the honor student and received a scholarship award. The graduates included: Norma Adams, Shirley Adams, Van Leavitt, Erwin Waite of Bunkerville; Omar Jensen, Nola Leavitt, Zella Leavitt of Mesquite; and Beth Pollock, Lola Mae Pollock, Pol-lock, Emaline and Evaline Peterson Pet-erson of Littlefield. Jex Tobler who spent part of the school year in Los Angeles, came home for the Valley high commencement. His mother, Mrs. Leah Tobler, returned to Los Angeles An-geles with him to remain for a year or two. Bishop and Mrs. Austin Hunt and family left last week for Los Angeles where they will spend the summer. Mrs. Lena Leavitt has gone to Los Angeles to spend the summer with her daughter, Mrs. Leon Bowman. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leavitt returned re-turned recently from Los Angeles whore they spent two weeks with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Allen and Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Leavitt and children. Moapa stake conference was held Sunday in Overton. Bishop Marvin O. Ashton of the presiding bishopric, and C. Orval Stott of the Church Welfare board were the official visitors. Guests of Washington Leavitt the past week were his son, Neil, who was on furlough from military mili-tary training and his daughter, Mrs. Lee Lake and two children of Los Angeles. Bunker Huntsman, who was home on emergency leave, due to tho illness of his father, George Huntsman, returned to his post June 3rd, his father being much improved. Mrs. Betsy Hardy left last Saturday Sat-urday for Las Vegas with her son, Grant, to visit for a week or two. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Christensen Christen-sen have gone to their home in Logan to spend a month. Mr. Christenstn was coach and vocational voca-tional teacher in the high school the past year, and Mrs. Christensen Christen-sen taught physical education for the girls. Mrs. Sadie Pulsipher who spent the past year with her granddaughter, grand-daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Waite, has gone to Hurricane to spend the summer with her daughter, Mrs. Scphronia Pulsipher. Mrs. Mary Ellen Leavitt is in Las Vegas with her daughter, Mrs. Elfonda Horsley, who is ill |
