Show Dance and Coronation Of Dixie Day Queen Close lD' Day Fete Miss Rowa Allen, Panguitch, was officially coronated Dixie Day Queen last Friday evening in the Dixie Day Dance, which concluded con-cluded a day's activities that stressed tributes to the founders of the Dixie college and the ideals of that institution. Alpine Prince officiated at the coronation. The twelve girls of the senior class participated as attendants to the Queen in a beautiful coronation coro-nation ceremony. In the public program that morning, James Amos Holt, Enterprise, En-terprise, gave the young people assembled as-sembled some timely advice on character development. Miss Joyce Kelly, Delta, was introduced as the Spirit of Dixie. An excellent program was given, paying tribute to the founders of the college, also al-so to the men and women in the military service. The classes enjoyed lunch and an informal program on the hill at noon, and the college emblem was brightened early in the morning. morn-ing. The college girls defeated the high school girls in an afternoon after-noon basketball game. |
