Show Eric Snow To Oppose Mayer Vatson In Bid For City Chiefs Post At Tuesday Municipal Election Highlight of interest among the political minded citizenry of St. George the past week has been the planning of party tickets for the forthcoming election on Tuesday Tues-day next, November 6. The Democratic Ticket, as indicated indi-cated on the city election ballots, sponsors E. Eric Snow for mayor; Rex R. Frei, 4-year councilman; Mathew M. Bentley, Vernon Wor-then Wor-then and Irvin Milne, 2-year coun-cilmen; coun-cilmen; Clair S. Terry, city treasurer, treas-urer, and H. Roy Bentley, city clerk and recorder. The opposing Citizens Ticket is made up for D. C. Watson, incumbent, in-cumbent, for mayor; Stanley Schmutz for 4-year councilman; and R. N. (Nat) Ashby, Rudger C. Atkin and Melvin E. Cox for 2-year councilmen. No opposition is proposed for the offices of city treasurer and recorder. Present incumbents are D. C. Watson, maor; Mathew M. Bentley, Bent-ley, Vernon Worthen, E. Eric Snow and Morris Miles, council-men. council-men. Miles has not filed for reelection re-election to the city board. Clair S. Terry and H. R. Bentley are incumbent as city treasurer and recorder respectively. The City of Hurricane offers but one ticket this year, headed by Chauncey Sandberg for mayor; Wayne Hinton, 4-year councilman; Bernard Isom, George E. Stevens and Cecil Sullivan, 2-year councilmen; coun-cilmen; Joseph Hinton, city recorder re-corder and Thomas Eagar, city treasurer. Santa Clara presents 2 tickets this year with the Citizens Party headed by Norman E. Gubler for town board president; Elgin Graff, vice-president; Sylvan Graff, Cecil Frei and Wendell Tobler, trustees, and George A. Graff, justice of the peace. The Progressive Party offers opposition with Harvey Stucki for town board president; Clarence Moss, vice-president; Lester Wittwer, Witt-wer, Grant A. Graff and Shelby Frei, trustees, and Adolph Hafen for justice of the peace. Ivins also is in the throes of a political contest with the Citizens Party presenting Reuben Ence, and E. J. Reber for councilmen, Edwin Stucki for justice of the peace and Frank Hunt for constable. con-stable. - Opposing them are the preferences prefer-ences of the Progressive Party offering of-fering Max E. Hunt for the town board president; Weston Hafen, Walter Winsor, William Bundy, and Harmon Gubler Jr. for councilmen. coun-cilmen.
