Show Dixie College Team To Tangle With Snow Fri. Coach Tolman's next competition at home for his college boys will be on February 14, when the league-leading Snow college team will tangle with the Flyers. Friday and Saturday of this week take the boys to Grand Junction and Price, where they will meet the Mesa and Carbon college teams. Weber triumphed over Dixie last Friday 49-43, but the Flyers came back Saturday night to win from Carbon 34-29. Weber's rangy players solved Dixie's zone defense after the first quarter, taking a lead that was not seriously threatened there-after. there-after. Coach Swenson's boys used their set plays with calm deliberation, delibera-tion, accompanied by accurate shooting. With a sizable lead, the Weber mentor began to substitute freely, and Dixie began quickly to close the gap. But the final gun saw the Flyers six points behind. The Carbon game was a listless affair, with both teams missing numerous shots. Dixie took the lead early in the game, and although al-though at times the score was close, not once seemed a bit dubious du-bious about the outcome. Snow and Ricks remained undefeated un-defeated by virtue of the former's win over Mesa 52-30, and the lat-ter's lat-ter's triumph over Albion 52-41. B. A. C. trounced Carbon 42-29 in the other Friday game. Saturday Weber downed B. A. C. 47-36: Me?a won from Westminster Westmin-ster in a free-scoring affair 63-55. This week-end B. A. C. goes north to take on Weber and Westminster, West-minster, and Westminster battles Snow Saturday night. |
