Show St. George South -West Vards Celebrate 103rd R. S. Anniversary Celebrating the 103rd anniversary of the organization of Relief Society on Tuesday, March 13. the St. George South ward took occasion to honor the officers who have served in that ward since it was organized. Among those attending at-tending were the first group of officers. Mrs. Joseph J. Webb of Hurricane, president; Mrs. George H. Lytle and Mrs. N. J. Wads-worth, Wads-worth, counselors; and Mrs. Henry Atkin. secretary. Several other past officers attended as well as members of the stake Relief Society So-ciety board. In their program on Tuesday. March 13, the West ward paid special tribute to the late Mrs. Malinda Riding an ardent worker whose daughter, Mrs. Glenn Stuart of San Juan Bautiste, Calif., commemorated com-memorated the life of her mother by sending a large plate glass mirror for the Relief Society room of the new ward chapel. The presentation was made by Mrs. Nelson Pearce. The life of Mrs. Riding was reviewed by Mrs. Luther Hemenway, and there were two vocal solos by D. J. Worthen, great-grandson of Mrs. Riding, a reading by Mrs. Isaac Hunt and music by the Foster D. U. P. camp orchestra. The reception committee commit-tee for the program, Mrs. J. W. Pace. Mrs. C. W. Seegmiller Jr. and Mrs. Mary Orton w-ere dressed dress-ed to represent the first three presidents of the Relief Society organization of 103 years ago. Emma Smith, Eliza R. Snow and 'Zina Y. Card. |
