Show Anniversary of Relief Society Work Commemorated Here The four St. George ward Relief Society organizations presented a conjoint program in the stake Tabernacle Sunday at 8 p. m., commemorating the 102nd anniversary anni-versary of that organization, which occurred in Nauvoo, Mar. 17, 1842. The- spirit of service as depicted in the Scriptural statement, "Inasmuch "In-asmuch as ye do unto the least of these, ye do it also unto Me", was the theme of the program, with Mrs. Jos. T. Atkin Jr., stake Relief Society president presiding, and her counselor, Mrs. Glenn E. Snow, conducting. Included on the program were two numbers by the Center ward singing mothers "For the Strength of the Hills", and "O, Master, Let Me Walk With Thee", Mrs. John L. Clarke, conducting, chorus members including Mesdames Harry Gentry, Ralph Huntsman, Donald Schmutz, Arlo Prisbrey, Malin Cox, Irwin Johnson, Lorraine Lor-raine Cox and Wm. E. Baker; Scriptural reading, Mrs. W. J. Reichmann, of the East ward, with organ accompaniment by Paul Thompson; talk on the "Compassionate "Compas-sionate Service of Relief Society Women", by Mrs. W. B. Bradshaw Brad-shaw of the South ward; and on "Conservation", as taught and practiced by Relief Society women, by Mrs. .Walter F. Smith of the stake Relief Society board; reading, read-ing, of Harrison R. Merrill's poem, "O God, Let This Be Heaven", by Mrs. Virgil Snow, with accompaniment ac-companiment on the vibra-harp, by Mrs. Evan S. Pickett, both of the Center ward; and vocal trio, "The Lord's Prayer", by the East ward, with Mrs. Gerald Blake, Mrs. Murray Webb and Mrs. Wm. E. Baker singing, accompanied by Mrs. Bud Seegmiller. Prayers were by Mrs. B. Jarvis and Mrs. Guy Hafen. Many adults from each of the ward were present pres-ent for the program. |
