Show Seen end Heard 'Roifnd the Town By EDGAR Speedy Action Proof of the work done by the Red Cross came this week when Pvt. William L. Adams, who arrived ar-rived home for a furlough on last Wednesday became seriously ill on Tuesday of this week. When the local doctors were called in, they recommended that he be taken at once to an Army Hospital, Hospi-tal, declaring that he need immediate im-mediate medical attention. . . Not knowing just what to do, Mrs. Adams approached Red Cross officials for advice and help. A phone call was immediately put through by Wesley Nelson to the Red Cross Field Director at the Army hospital in Las Vegas. A plane was dispatched at once and in 50 minutes it was here, the patient loaded on board and on his way to the hospital. The result re-sult was that within an hour and one-half from the time he called, Pvt. Adams was in the Las Vegas hospital. |
