Raynel Jennings, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Jennings, of Rockville, a Marine corps recruit, re-cruit, training at San Diego. When the picture was taken, Jennings, who entered Marine depot, de-pot, basic training one month ago, had just scored a technical knockout knock-out over his leatherneck opponent in one of the feature bouts held each Saturday night at the Mar- ine corps training camp in San Diego. And that's Referee Marty Schwartz holding up the hand of the "Winnah". Before leaving for the service, Pvt. Jennings had made a good record as a boxer in Hurricane high school and elsewhere, and was rated plenty good. It should add a bright future to his cap to win a bout in the training camp, as well as afford an extra interest in his daily routine. |
