Show City Officials Hear Proposal Of Southern Utah Power Company Further Check To Be Made of Available Water For Power Use Further consideration of t ho Southern Sou-thern Utah Power company proposal pro-posal for power and lighting in St. George was given the company com-pany Wednesday when the Mayor and City Council members met in a special meeting to hear the company's engineer, C. O. Ros-keley Ros-keley and Manager Reid Gardner explain their proposition. Following the meeting Mayor D. C. Watson announced that a further investigation would be made of the amount of water that was available for power purposes in the city water line. The city recently announced that they had information showing show-ing that a suitable plant and distribution dis-tribution system could be installed in-stalled at a cost of 9250,000. Company officials counter (his with the assertion that 5250,000 would only be a good start toward the cost. They declare that ?425,-000 ?425,-000 would be needed. The main difference in the two estimates is in the fact that the city has set up a capacity kilowat hour prouction of much less than that which the company declares would be necessary. There also was approximately 525,000 difference differ-ence in the mount estimated for the distribution system. Watch this paper for more complete com-plete details as further information informa-tion is released by both the city and power company. |
