Show Hurricane Armistice Day Program Lsuded HURRICANE, Utah What was declared by many to be the "best Armistice Day program ever to be presented here" got underway Thursday morning at 10:50 a.m. Owen Bergener was in charge of the exercises, which were held in the local high school. Numbers presented included the "Pledge of Allegiance", led by L. B. Bennett, principal of the Hurricane high school: quartette numbers, "Rose of No Man's Land" and "Goodbye Broadway" were sung by L. Staheli, Vernon Church, Mr. Bergener and Karl Larson; senior speech, Carma Hirschi; a poem, "I have a Rende-vouz Rende-vouz With Death", Melvin Hirschi; "Retold Story, Humorseque", Ruth spendlove assisted by Barbara Tweedie and Elaine Bradshaw; senior speech, Delanie Squire; quartette of poems, "In Flander's Field", Florence I m 1 a y; "The Pledge", Golden Lang; "The Fulfillment", Ful-fillment", Elaine Bradshaw; "The Conclusion", Alice Inglestead; senior speech, Corris Jackson; descriptive dancing, Tribute to the Soldiers of 1918, under the direction direc-tion of Miss Banner and the faculty facul-ty quartette sang "Over There" and "Where Do We Go From Here". |
