Show Elementary School Last week our school produced the prize winning Armistice Day float entitled "Ring for Peace." We are all very proud and happy about it. We would like to thank and tender our appreciation to the many parents who not only costumed cos-tumed the children but willingly gave their services on the actual construction of the float. Without their aid, it never would have been completed. Miss Hopkin's First Grade We are studying about the first Thanksgiving. We are learning about the Indians and the Pilgrims. Pil-grims. To day we are making log houses. Yesterday we made a ship like the Mayflower. Our room is decorated for Thanksgiving. Last week we marched in the parade. Miss Morris' Second Grade We are still working on our house project. This week we are studying old English homes. We have decorated our room for Thanksgiving. Miss Foremaster's Fourth Grade We had a fourth grade amateur hour. We have learned the poem "In Flander's Field." We are making a Thanksgiving border for the hall. Mrs. Miles is teaching us a Thanksgiving song and Miss McArthur a dutch dance for our Thanksgiving program. Mr. Cannon's Sixth Grade The sixth grades have established establish-ed a junior police force to safeguard safe-guard the highways. There is one captain and two lientenants and five policemen. They are to help tne smaller children cross the streets and also to see that motorists obey the traffic rules. There are two officers on each corner. They are at their places at noon and when the children are crossing the street. They have authority to enforce the rules. We have finished our health activities and are starting new ones. We have a class organization. We have made some rules for better order. If the students disobey dis-obey the rules they are fined. We have a class president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer, a judge and five jureymen. |
