Show Firemen's Ball Deserves Support The Firemen are again sponsoring their annual Firemen's Fire-men's Ball on the night of October 18. This Ball was one of the best dances of the year in 1937 and everything points to another outstanding event. The firemen are taking an active part in making this a success Both because it is a means of deriving badly needed revenue for their department, depart-ment, and because they are anxious to provide a good time for local people and incoming deer hunters.' Tickets have been printed and the firemen are out selling them. If one of them approaches you with tickets, keep in mind the fact that these men are giving a great deal of their time without any remuneration other than the satisfaction of providing a very necessary service to this community. These men answer every call sent to them, day or night, winter or summer. They give up their time to attend meetings and study the latest methods of fire prevention pre-vention and fighting. They deserve your support and it should be given willingly whether you intend to attend the dance or not. So when you are asked to buy a ticket to the dance, do it willingly and show the boys that you appreciate the protection that they are providing for your family and property. |
