Show Hurricane Miss Audrey Ballard Reporter Monday Mrs. William Sullivan left for Berkeley, Calif, where she will visit friends and relatives for a few days. Accompanying her was Mrs. Margaret Haight, of Cedar City. J Mildred Judd arrived here Tues-! Tues-! day for a stay with her brother, i Finley Judd and family. Miss Judd j has been in Australia for the past three years with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Judd. She returned re-turned to the United States with her sister a few weeks ago and has been visiting missionary friends in California to date. Genevieve Isom and her room mate, Miss Jackson of the L.D.S. Nurses's Training school arrived here Sunday to spend a week with Miss Isom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Isom. Metta Wood came home Monday Mon-day from the Cedar City hospital where she had undergone an appendicitis ap-pendicitis operation. Her sister, Mrs. Burns Hall of Cedar City, accompanied ac-companied her. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Riding of Provo visited Monday with Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Riding. They were enroute to Boulder Dam on their vacation. Dr. Hutchins, dentist, moved his office here on Monday. Henry Scholzen and son, Jack, returned from their vacation in Idaho Falls and Yellowstone Park on Thursday. Mrs. Eleanora Owens of Pioche, spent last week with her parents, Mr., and Mrs. Leonard Isom, returning re-turning home Friday. Eleanor Nicholes of Provo spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hinton and other friends. Mrs. Violate Smith arrived here Tuesday from Salt Lake City for a brief visit with her parents Mr. and Mrs. James Jepson. She returned Thursday, taking hel daughter, Norma, back with her, Ruth Hopkins of Cedar City is spending a week with Dawn Graff. Friday the north ward missionary mis-sionary class is sponsoring a benefit bene-fit dance on the open air pavilion. iThe proceeds are to go to Cleo Covington, who is being supported by this missionary class. Mr. and Mrs. Golden Taylor spent Saturday through Monday vacationing at Panguitch Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Liee Thaxton and family of Wyoming visited at the home of Mrs. Anna J. Wood on Tuesday. Melvin Chadburn and Homer Gibson left Wednesday for New Mexico on business.- Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Deans and family, who have been staying with Mr. and Mrs. George W. Gibson, returned to their home in Salt Lake City on Tuesday. Nedra Gibson accompanied them back. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jones of Ovecton, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dalton and family. J. W. Imlay spent a few days this past week at Long Valley, on business. Lamond Langston of Cane Beds, is here staying with his grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Annie Langston. LaPrele Isom and Shirley Spend-love Spend-love from here and May Naegle of Toquerville, spent a week at Navajo Lake. Miss Isom is vacationing vaca-tioning from duties at Graffs store. L. K. Larson is back from summer sum-mer school in Provo. Mrs. Larson, Lar-son, who stayed in St. George during his absence, is back also. Beginning Sunday, the local band began practicing maneuvers for the Peach Day celebration. Lafe Staheli is in charge of these activities. Members of the Parowan Stake were here investigating our canning can-ning plant for the church security program, as they plan to build another an-other similar to it. Work will begin be-gin at this plant on Thursday, Committeemen John A. Humphries Hum-phries and R. D. Adams announce. Mrs. J. W. . Webb returned on Thursday from a visit with her sister, Mrs. Shedrick Jones of Provo. Ramona Wood, who has been employed by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Allen of Leeds, is home now. Verlin Wood spent Thursday through Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Isom in Kanarra. Week end visitors from Salt Lake City were Clayton Stout and Bernarr Langston. Mrs. J. M. Williams visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Pollock in Kanarra. |
