Show Elementary School News IMiss Graff's Second Grade William Wil-liam found a worm. It is a big brown worm. We did not know it's name. We asked many people. They did not know. Then we took it to the college. A boy told us that it was a tomato worm. It's real name is the "Pandoa Sphnix". We laughed and laughed. Mrs. Pitchforth's Second Grade We are working hard every day with reading and arithmetic. Some children have brought things to school that we have written stories about. Betty Joy brought a tarantula and Laura brought some apple blossoms. It was funny to see apple blossoms in October. Laura said the tree has apples on it too. Miss Morris' Second Grade Miss Morris is reading us a book about little "Hoot-Owl". We liked it so well that we decided to study about Indians. This week we are studying about where they live. Donald Esplin, Walter Jensen, Jen-sen, Edna Lu McQuaid and Leah Bentley are making a pueblo for the sand table. The rest of us 111 WbVIIVh are making wigwams and painting pictures of both of them. Mrs. Bradford's Third Grade This year of school is different for us than school was last year. We have many books in our desk to help us work. We have made pictures of sunflowers sun-flowers and bowls of fruit. The best were chosen to be used on our border. Mr. Fordham gave us a peanut plant. We are finding out how many different- things can be made from peanuts and their shells. Our reading club meets every Friday. Then we read stories to each other. Each week we choose a new president and secretary. Miss Foremaster's Fourth Grade We have been studying about the world. We have learned many things about it. In one of our programs a man told us a little about his exploring trips to the south pole with Admiral Byrd. He told us many interesting things about their trip. We have been pressing flowers and making very beautiful pictures. Miss Seegmiller's Fifth Grade We are studying about courtesy in school. We are also going to try to make our manners better.
