Show BUNKER VILLE, NEV. M KS. MA11Y H I.K.WITT Il.-porter We had as home missionaries here last Sunday, Mr. Hopkins and Dr. Smith of the Las Vegas ward. Mr. Hopkins told of his conversion convers-ion to Mormonism, having been baptized three years ago. A band concert was given Sunday Sun-day afternoon by the high school band under the direction of Morris Johnson, music instructor, and also al-so the junior band of Mesquite under un-der the direction of Leonard Reber gave several selections. They afterward af-terward did some marching on the grounds. A large crowd from both Bunkerville and Mesquite were in attendance, showing the appreciation appreci-ation of their efforts. Francis Leavitt took two of his debating students, Arlo Leavitt and Laurel Abbott to Reno to attend at-tend the Nevada State high school Forensic league tournament, April 15, 16, and 17. Sixteen high schools participated. The debate topic was, "Resolved: That All Electric Utilities Should be Owned and Operated by the States". Each school was allowed four debates. ! The Bunkerville team was the only one which won all four debates, I thus winning State Championship, t Two individual trophies were a-warded a-warded the two boys and a larger one for the school. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leavitt and son, Laurel made a trip to Blanding, Utah to visit their daughter, Mrs. Vernon C. Rowley, Row-ley, who has been ill. Mrs. Harmon Tobler is in Las Vegas on account of illness. |
