The life and poems of Walt j Whitman were discussed by Mrs. j Jennv Ballard and Mrs. Leah Wadsworth Friday afternoon at the Alice Louise Reynolds club, held at the home of Mrs. Erma Stevens. Mrs. Mary Kleinnian was co-hostess. Refreshments were served to 19 members and one guest. Mrs. Warren Hamilton of Grand Canyon, Ariz. Mrs. Mary M. Hirsehi and her daughter. Mrs. Ix-o Reeve, were Sunday visitors at the home of Mrs. Hirschi's son. Honor, at Rockville. Mrs. Mary Kleinnian visited! Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Alice Otto of Cedar City. Mrs. E. Clark McTntire went to Salt Lake City on Thursday morning. morn-ing. She expects to be gone about a week. Mrs. Beth Humphries and Mrs. Eloise Bringhurst were hostesses to the Pinochle club Thursday night at the Bringhurst home. Mr. and Mrs. Will F. Wilson, son Clifton and daughter, Miss Mona, were Sunday visitors at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lymn Empey, at Boulder City. Mrs. Verl Ely and baby daughter, daugh-ter, of Las Vegas, are spending a few weeks here with Mrs. Ely's mother, Mrs. Mae Petty. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Jolley and small daughter, Lois, of Spring-ville, Spring-ville, visited from Thursday to Monday with Mrs. Jolley's parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Spendlove Sr. A splendid program of music, dancing and drama was presented by the Parowan high school on Friday at the Hurricane gym. The Parowan students were accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Edith Bennett and Ormon .Weight, both former residents resi-dents of Hurricane. Miss Maude Mae Babcock of the U. of U. will present three distinctive programs March 15 at the Flurricane high school. The program at 9 a.m. will be suitable to high school students, the one at 4 p.m. has been prepared with the idea of club women uppermost upper-most and the one in the evening, is relative to P.-T.A. Mrs. Ora Williams entertained at a bridal shower in compliment to Miss Jean Kendall, who is to marry Wayne Hinton early in June. Sixteen guests presented Miss Kendall with kitchen utensils uten-sils and towels. The evening was spent sewing and visiting. Lunch was served. Mr. and Mrs. George Stevens spent Friday at Boulder City. They had as their guest, Mr. Steven's father, George Stevens Sr. of Salina. Mr. and Mrs. Claudius Hirsehi were guests of the B.A.C. Saturday Satur-day night when they attended the production of the opera "The Red Mill" staged by the music flpnarfmonf nf tVto nnninf -.nllofro under the direction of W. H. Manning, of Cedar City. Mrs. Eva Stratton and Mrs. Phyllis Heaton were hostesses to the Hurricane camp of the D.U.P. Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Nellie Woodbury. Mrs. Artie Reeve read the life of Thomas Robert Reeve, her father-in-law, who helped pioneer the Hurricane bench lands. A history of the Tabernacle organ and a few incidents inci-dents from the life of its designer, de-signer, Joseph Radges, were given by Katharine Larson. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served to 14 members. Mrs. Marjorie Snow and Mrs. Margaret Nuttall entertained the south ward M.I.A. senior class at the Snow home Tuesday evening even-ing after the opening exercises ' at mutual.
