Show Dixie College Fine Arts Festival Plans Nearing Completion All Classes and Assemblies Held Durinp: Festival To Be Open to Public; Classes Listed for Three Days. I K.V Ifc'VKKK McAI.MSTKR The Dixie junior college Fine Arts Festival and Fine Arts Ball, December 2, 3, and 4 is an outgrowth out-growth of last year's Beaux Art exhibit and Beaux Art Ball sponsored spon-sored by the Beaux Art Guild. The Delta Thi Alpha and the Lambda, Beta Theta have joined the Art Guild to make this a real Fine Arts Festival in which not only art will be featured as it was last year but music and literature will be on the program. This will be worked out by devoting all class work of special assemblies and evening entertainments entertain-ments of one day to the subject of that day in the following manner: man-ner: December 2, Music Day, all classes will present their regular reg-ular class work in relation to music and at 10 a., m. there will be a special assembly in which all parts will be of a musical nature, that evening at 7:30 p. m., there will be a symphonic concert by the Brigham Young university symphony orchestra in the new Recreation hall; December 3 Li erary Day, all classes will explain ex-plain and correlate their regular class work with the theme of literature, lit-erature, and that evpning a drama "The Garden of the Moon", will be presented at 7:30 in the college auditorium; December De-cember 4, Art Day, all classes will correlate art with regular text material and the special assembly as-sembly at 10 a. m. will be all on art with special speaker who is being chosen at the present time. All classas and assemblies held on these three days will be open to the public and a special invitation invi-tation is being extended to the parents of students of Dixie junior jun-ior college to attend these classes and assemblies, also to anyone who is interested in attending school there is a special invitation invita-tion extended. The purpose of this Festival is to develop a cultural outlook on life, to correlate the work which is done in the classes with that of the finer arts, to recreate rec- reation and to enrich the lives of students and attending people. An example of what may be j in store for you is shown by the j outline of Dr. D. Elden Beck's j classes for the day of Music: I I S:00 Health Education, "Can j St. George have a Musical Fu- ! ture?" 9:00 Health and Hygiene, "Music and its Relationship to Hygiene." 1:00 Botany, "Music and the Nature of Things." This is just a sample of what lies in store for those who will attend the classes which are to be taught during the Festival. Tickets for evenins programs are on sale at the c-ollec? office and by the printing of this paper we expect to place them, in local stores. |
