Leavitt Reporter The Overton Power District No. E has a new man, Clarence Jones, who has succeeded Irvin Bryner He made his first official rounds of the district Monday reading meters. A new method of holding district dis-trict conference among the different dif-ferent wards of Moapa stake is being adopted by the stake presidency. presi-dency. A conference of this, the Virgin Valley, was held in Mes-quite Mes-quite on Sunday. All members oi the stake presidency were in attendance, at-tendance, also the stake clerk and the Las Vegas choir, who furnished furnish-ed the music. Eldon Larson was in charge with Mrs. Bryon Bunker at the piano. This is the third conference of its kind held this year. Two previous ones were held in Panaca and Alamo. President Bunker also urged the choirs to make preparations to visit different dif-ferent wards during this series of meetings. The speakers on Sunday Sun-day were Pres. Bryan Bunker, Robert Bunker, Samuel Davis, Robert O. Gibson and Bishop Brinley. A trio number by Mrs. Adams, Mrs. Whipple and Mrs. Bunker was beautifully rendered. Geneological meetings are being held each Sunday evening at the homes of the people. Last Sunday it was held at the home of Warren War-ren Hardy. Refreshments were served after the meeting. The Beehive girls entertained at a "Buzz" party last Tuesday evening. Dancing and games were participated in after which they served buns and punch very generously. The high priests and seventies with their wives sponsored a party last Thursday evening at the home of Grant Hardy. About 35 enjoyed the evening with games, jokes, etc. Sandwiches, pie and cocoa were served. A picture show "When The Rains Came" was enjoyed by members of the ward on Saturday evening as one of the "Budget" events sponsored by the bishopric. |
