Show WEEVIL BAN MAY BE LIFTED Four Arizona crop pest authorities, auth-orities, including the chairman of the state board of agriculture, agricul-ture, and the state entomologist, spent Wednesday .- morning in this vicinity on an investigation trip to study the Utah alfalfa weevil. wee-vil. They were on a return trip from Salt Lake City. It has been noted that weevil wee-vil has never been seen here, nor in the Moapa valley, and experts are of the opinion that the pest cannot thrive in hot low altitudes. This may result in the removal remo-val of the ban from southern Utah fruits and vegetables which have been rigidly quarantined out ot that state, as Arizona is even lower and hotter than this district. Lifting the ruling would open a new market for Utah fruit, potatoes and onions. -' ' 1 |
