Show UTAH RANGE BOARD ASKED The creation of a commission to handle range management as it concerns deer and elk, will be recom'mended at the present session ses-sion of the state legislature by the Utah fish and game protective protec-tive game association, it was decided de-cided at a meeting at the capitol January 5, according to Ben Swapp, forest ranger. The bill will provide for representation rep-resentation on the commission of representatives of the cattlemen, cattle-men, wool growers, national forest for-est service, state park department, depart-ment, and sportsmen's organizations, organiz-ations, with the state game commissioner com-missioner acting as chairman. The duties of the board will be to regulate the distribution of deer and elk throughout the state with a view to keeping the herds-scattered herds-scattered and prevent encroachment encroach-ment on livestock ranges and depredations of private property. This recommendation is directly di-rectly in line with recommendations recommenda-tions recently submitted to State Representative Arthur F. Miles prior to his departure for the capitol. when every phasp of the deer problem as it affects Ihr farmer, stockman and sportsmen's sports-men's organizations were taken up and discussed in detail, po that Mr. Miles would know what was desired in this section, and requested that he favor such legislation leg-islation and strive for the passage pass-age of such laws that would meet the needs of all concerned. |
