Show Chinook Sweeps Back Cold Snap Denver A Chinook wind swept down the eastern slope of the Rockis r.nd sent temperatures upward from Montana to the Mexican border. Aided by a brilliant sun, the chinook swept away ominous clouds which two weeks ago whipped a subzero wave into the region aad overcoats were discarded in Denver, the temperature having Feared to 55 degrees. Billings. Mont,, reported a temperature of 45 degrees. At Helena the last of the winter's Fnow was melted, while at Great Falls, farther north, the mercury mounted to 50 degrees. Havre, thirty miles south of the Canadian border, reported 40 degrees. Only a week ago' Havre was shivering as the mercury dropped to 33 degrees below zero. |
