Show GIFT TO DIXIE COLLEGE WILL HELP SCHOOL MUCH Very valuable indeed is the gift made to the Dixie college by our esteemed fellow citizen, Joseph T. Atkin, Sr. Valuable not perhaps so much in dollars as for the good it will do the college and this Community Commun-ity in enabling the college to reach out in agricultural and horticultural experiment work which hitherto it has been unable to do because it had no ground. The gift is of between 13 and 14 acres of land with 12 shares of water under the St. George Valley Irrigation Irriga-tion Co. canal, a fine piece of land not far from the college. It is through the efforts of just such men as Mr. Atkin that we have the college here. He donated very liberally toward its erection and all through has shown great interest in its mission and accomplishments. |
