Show DIXIE COLLEGE The Dixie high school Is sending send-ing In Its entries this week to the B. A. C. high school day contests. con-tests. The local school will enter en-ter music, business, and agricultural agricul-tural contests. The Dixie college band will be featured In the high school parade, par-ade, through not eligible for the contests. New uniforms are being ordered, and the hand member are participating marching tactics regularly. The Dxie high school Agriculture Agricul-ture club received a charter onto the national agricultural organization organiza-tion known as the Future Farmers of America. The Initation ceremony was conducted last Thursday, with the Parowan F. F. A. officiating. The two clubs participated in athletic contests, after which the Parowan boys were guests of the Dixie boys at the opera. The initiation ceremony of the girls' literary club was conducted last Thursday. Lunch was served to the members. Final arrangements are being made for what promises to be one of the biggest Junior Proms in the history of the school. The decorations decor-ations are practically completed, an apple orchard scene being depicted. de-picted. The theme song of the dance is "In the Shade of the Old Apple Tree." The Prom committee consists of Nelson Snow of St. George; Roxey Romney of St. George: Genevieve Gen-evieve Heaton of Hurricane; and Cornelia Ashby of St. George. The patrons are oupt. and Mrs. Chas. H. Skidmore; Pres. and Mrs. W. O. Bentley; Senator and Mrs. O. C. Bowman; State Representative Rep-resentative and M:rs. Arthur F. Miles; Senator and Mrs. David Hirschi; Pres. and Mrs. Jos. K. Nicholes; Mr. and Mrs. Jos. S. Snow; and Judge David H. Morris. Pres. and Mrs. B. Glen Smith are the class advisers. The Oratorio, "Seven Last Words of Christ," will be presented present-ed Tuesday morning. April 3, in the Tabernacle. This number was featured at our 1933 Baccalaureate Baccalau-reate services, and is under the direction of Jos. W. McAllister. On April 5. the Junior Band will give the assembly program in the auditorium. |
