OCR Text	Show ROYS STEAL CAR James Edward Smith. 19, and Lee Smith (his brother) 17. are in the. county jail charged with felony. They are both of Memphis, Tenn. They say they stole a Ford coupe (the one they arrived here in) at Dodge City, Kansas, and went through to the coast with it. They decided to return and reaching here got out of funds so they slate. Saturday night they stole Vivian Frei's Ford, took it about a mile East of this city and stripped it of tires, gasoline and all pn'rts that could be moved. They then went on to Washington Wash-ington wrtere they had trouble which delayed them until Sheriff William Brooks and Deputy John H. Cottam overtook them and brought them back. Sheriff Brooks is trying to ascertain ascer-tain who they stole the car from bark east so as to lodge a federal charge against them under the Dyer Act.
