Show ROAD PROJECTS Eids Aggregating $333,000 in Highway Construction Will be Advertised; Washington County Roads Included Bids for the construction of approximately ap-proximately 35 miles of highway in Utah, comprising five different projects, at an aggregate cost of more than $333,000, will be advertised ad-vertised by the state within the next few days, it is expected. Included in the total is the paving pav-ing of roadways at the state capi-tol capi-tol grounds, for which the special session of the legislature appropriated appro-priated $50,000. The other projects in the list coming up are federal aid projects. proj-ects. J. H. Young of the district offices at Ogden of the United States bureau of public Toads went over the plaits Thursday. They are being sent to Ogden for further scanning, and as soon as they are approved there, the work will be advertised. The federal government na.vs Bbnnt three-fourths of the cost of these roads. The projects include: Seven miles of gravel surfaced highway in Salt Creek canyon, between be-tween Nephi and the Sanpete county line. Seven and nine-tenths miles in Sanpete county between Manti and Nine-mile reservoir. Four and eight-tenths miles between be-tween Toquerville and La Verkin Junction, and about a mile between Harrisburg and Harrisburg bench, in Washington county. Fourteen miles between Wood-side Wood-side and Green River in Emery county.- |
