Show "AUTOCIDE" COILED I FOR DRIVING ERRORS j Motorists may commit "autocide" "auto-cide" just as easily as homocide, suicide, treason, bigamy, or other illegal acts, observes a report received re-ceived by the public safety department de-partment of the Automobile club of Southern California. This new word suggested for the dictionary covers all perilous driving practices which often result re-sult fatally, including the following: follow-ing: driving a car without sufficient suffic-ient practice, driving without paying the slightest attention to crossroads or farmers' lanes, whizzing along at night when there are trucks and many cars with dimmed rear lights or none at all, suddenly shifting from one lane to another without regard to cars following, trying to beat the train to the railroad crossing, never nev-er having the brakes or the running run-ning gear checked to see if they're in good condition, and ignoring the red light. |
