Show NEW MANAGER I FOR POWER CO, The transfer of Jqs. Empey, Jr., manager of the St. George division, to Cedar City as manager man-ager of the Cedar division, and the transfer of O. C. Bowman, Kanab manager, to St. George to become the new manager of the St. George division was announced announc-ed this week by Reid H. Gardner, general manager of the Southern Utah Power Company. The transfer of Mr. Empey to Cedar City as division manager is in recognition of the excellent work done by Mr. Empey in 3t. George for the past 17 years. Mr. Empey was the second employee hired by Mr. A. L. Woodhouse, owner and manager of the old Dixie Power Company, the first being Mr. C. A. Thompsen formerly form-erly of St. George and of Cedar City. Upon the purchase of a power plant at Cedar City the head quarters of the company was moved to that place and Mr. Empey became manager at St. George, a position which he has since held. The transfer of Mr. Empey is a promotion in that he is now placed in charge of the Cedar Division which comprises all of Iron County, while the St. George division omprises about half of Washington County, the other half being in the Hurricane division where Mr. Irvin Bryner is manager. Mr. Empey will make his headquarters in Cedar City and be in charge of collections, collec-tions, sales, service, etc. over all of Iron County. Mr. O. C. Bowman, the new St. George manager, has been manager man-ager for the power company at Kanab for the past year. Mr. Bowman has proven to be a very excellent manager at Kanab and is leaving a host of friends there. During the past several years, he has been one of the leaders of the community, being a member of the bishopric and the State Senator from that district, the director of the Associated Civic Clubs of Utah from Kane County, Coun-ty, and a past Mayor of Kanab. Mrs. Bowman was also very active ac-tive in church and civic works. Mr. Clarence Jones, who has been in charge of the hydro stations sta-tions of the company and who has lived in Veyo, has been moved mov-ed to Kanab where he has taken the place vacated by Mr. Bow man. Mr. Vaughn Jones, who has been chief operator of the plantB, has been placed in ohrg of thv plants as acting hydro tupertn-- tendent. |
