Show FORD EXHIBITS PLEASE SAN DIEGO FAIR VISITORS ! Henry Ford has duplicated his, triumph at Chicago with his spec-! tacular exhibit at San Diego. California Pacific International Exposition. ' This is the verdict brought back to the intermountain region re-gion by newspaper correspon- I dents and early fair visitors who attended the Balboa Park opening open-ing at the end of May. These enthusiastic observers were also equally emphatic in their prediction pre-diction that" the San Diego display dis-play would break all previous attendance records. It was pointed out, too, that of the many hundreds of thousands thous-ands of fair visitors who visit the California vacation-land, a great many in coming from Eastern j States will travel through the states of Idaho. Utah, Nevada, I Montana, and Wyoming, adding! materially- to the retail business . activity of the intermountain west. According to .the early visitors, two main features stand out in their memory of the Exposition. Exposi-tion. One is the gorgeous tropical tropi-cal setting. Balboa Park, with its towering palms, its beautiful reflection pools, its tropical flow-j ers, and its grand vistas of sweeping lawns is hailed as a most appropriate setting for the Spanish. Mayan, and Aztec architecture ar-chitecture of the Exposition Buildings. The second outstanding feature fea-ture is the magnificent display built by Henry Ford for the Exposition. This includes the great circular tower where scores of exhibits trace the development of the modern motor car; the Ford Music Bowl with its afternoon after-noon and evening Symphony concerts, con-certs, and the unique "Roads of the Pacific," display the replica rep-lica of fourteen historic highways which have played a major role in the development of the West j and of the nations who border the Pacific. |
