Show FUNERAL HELD FOR JOHN GUBLER, 81, AT SANTA CLARA ' JUNE 8 SANTA CLARA. June 10 Funeral services were held Saturday Sat-urday afternoon. June S for John Gubler, 81, who died Thursday, June 6 at 10 p.m. . Bishop Vivian J. Frei was in charge of the services with speakers, John "Hafen, Ex-Bishop Edward R. Frei and Orval Hafen. Ha-fen. Musical numbers were rendered ren-dered as follows: "I Need Thee Every Hour" sung by the choir. "Whispering Hope," a vocal duet by La Von Tobler and Buelila Graff. "Hope Beyond the Shad-, -ow", vocal duet by'Glenna Tobler Hafen and Wanda Graff. Violin solo, "The End of a Perfect Day," LaRue Leavitt. "Shall I Receive A Welcome Home" sung by a Welcome Home" sung by a mixed quartet consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Reber, Mrs. Ernest Tobler and Vivian Frei. Each of the speakers, who were personal friends of MJr. Gubler. spoke of the wonderful life he had lived, of the fine family he and his wife 'had reared and of the support he had given his parents for many years. ' Mr. Gubler was born in Mull-heim, Mull-heim, Thurgan, Switzerland, September Sep-tember 10, 1953. He was the son of John and Mary Miller Gubler. In 1S59 he left Switzerland Switz-erland with his parents and cajne to Utah. In 1862 his parents were called to settle Santa Clara in the old fort town site. When the St. George and Mantl temples were built, Mr. Gubler donated three six month work periods to them. According to friends who knew him, Mr. Gubler was a fine, dependable de-pendable man and a splendid neighbor. He had been a member mem-ber of the church all his life and a farmer and stockman. Besides his wife, Mr. Gubler is survived by the following children: Hyrum Gubler, Santa Clara; Helen Gubler, Logan, Utah; S. J. Gubler, Salt Lake City, Mrs. Harold Lockwood, Los Angeles, E. V. Gubler, Logan-dale Logan-dale Nevada; Laura Gubler, Santa Clara and Mrs. Harvey Frehner, Alamo, Nevada. Interment was made in the Santa Clara cemetery. |
