Show BOY SCOUTS ENJOY OUTING Return Tuesday from Ten-Day Ten-Day Trip to Provo Canyon, Salt Lake City and Bryce Twenty-one St. George Boy Scouts returned Tuesday from a ten days vacation spent a Timpanogas camp, Salt Lake City and Bryce National park. The party left here Sunday, July 21, and arrived at Camp Timpanogas Timpan-ogas about 5 o'clock Monday evening. eve-ning. At Springville they visited the state fish hatchery and the steel mill. Scoutmaster B. Glen Smith joined them at Provo and accompanied accompan-ied them to camp. Their activities at the Scout camp included hikes to Cascade Falls, Big Fir tree and Salamander lake. Friday Fri-day morning 96 Scouts took the big hike to the top of Mt. Timpanogas. and that evening the camp activities activi-ties closed with a court of honor. They boys turned out each morning morn-ing and evening for colors, and while in camp health instructions and other beneficial information was given. Saturday morning the party left for Salt Lake City. Points of interest in-terest visited included the post office. of-fice. Hotel Utah, K. S. L. broadcasting broad-casting station, the church offices, the state capitol building. Lagoon and Liberty park. Sunday afternoon the party left Salt Lake and arrived in Bryce canyon at sunset Monday evening. They left for home Tuesday morning, morn-ing, arriving here about 7 o'clock fiat evening. From every standpoint it was a very enjoyable and instructive cut-in? cut-in? . |
