Miss Genevieve Jarvis arrived here Friday from Las Vegas for a week's visit with relatives before be-fore returning to her home in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Humphreys Hum-phreys and family left Tuesday for Boulder City, Nevada. On Christmas eve, their daughter, Miss Velma, will be married to Wayne McFadden of that place. Immediately following the ceremony cere-mony the couple will leave for ' Long Beach. Mrs. Blanche Lewis entertained fourteen guests at a dinner and rook party Sunday evening at her home. Born A daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ruesch, Jr., of Hurricane, Hur-ricane, Tuesday, December 20. Neils S. Sandberg of Washington Washing-ton and Mrs. Nina F. Larson were married here Saturday, December De-cember 17, the ceremony being performed by President W. O. Bentley. Howard Cannon came in Wednesday Wed-nesday from Flagstaff, Ariz., where he has been attending college, col-lege, to spend Christmas holidays with his parents. He was accompanied accom-panied by Jonnie Roderiquez who will visit here. Vernon Bunker left Sunday for his home at Bunkerville. He has been a patient at the Washington County hospital for the past month. iMiss Elsie Johnson of Los Angeles An-geles spent the fore part of the week here visiting Miss EvaLyn Harris. She was en route to Provo to spend the holidays with her parents. The Woodward school faculty entertained forty guests at a Christmas party in the Snow hotel ho-tel Monday evening. Those on the entertaining committee were Misses Lena Nelson, Linda Larson, Lar-son, Mishie Seegmiller and Mr. and Mrs. B. Glen Smith. Dinner was served followed by rook. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Rose Graham, Mrs. Anthony Pendleton, Pen-dleton, Leo Snow and Vernon Worth en. The Athena club met last Wednesday Wed-nesday evening at the home of Mrs. Jos. Empey. Mrs. Jos. McAllister Mc-Allister assisted in entertaining. Miss Evelyn Thurston gave a talk on the history and development of music from early times, with illustrations being given on the piano by Miss Effie Bracken and Bowden Kenworthy. Vern L. Miles of Pueblo. Colo., came in Sunday for a two-months' two-months' visit with his mother, Mrs. Alice Miles and other relatives. rela-tives. This is Mr. Miles' first visit here in twelve years. Miss LaPrele Pace left Wed nesday for Santa Barbara and Los Angeles where she will visit for several weeks with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Woodbury Wood-bury , returned Saturday from Los Angeles where they spent the past two weeks. Among those coming down from Provo the latter part of the week and who will remain here over the holidays were: Mrs. D. A. McGregor and daughters, daugh-ters, Misses Karma and Mary, Shipley Snow, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Tobler, Francis Leavitt. Lewis Tulsipher, Orlando Leavitt, Leav-itt, Miss Maggie Brooks, Wesley Atkin, Ellis McAllister, Grant Hafen and Sylvan Graff. Mr. and Mrs. Win. Dixon and son, Wm. Jr., and Mrs. Margaret Bradford and baby of Payson arrived here Sunday for a visit of several weeks with their daughter and sister, Mrs. B. Glen Smith. Roman Andrus came in Saturday Sat-urday from Los Angeles to spend two weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Andrus. |
