Show CiTV PUNS CUT OF 52266 IN 1933 JD6ET Contingent Fund Slash Accounts Ac-counts for Decrease of $1099; Gain of $200 Made in Water Appropriation A decrease in expenditures of $2266 from the amount spent in 1932, is indicated on the 1933 budget as prepared by George E. Miles, city recorder, and passed upon by the council Saturday. Public hearing on the budget has been set for Saturday, Satur-day, January 7, 1933, at two o'clock, in the city room of the library building. The largest single cut is in the contingent fund, the reduction reduc-tion of salaries the first of this month accounting for the greater great-er part of that. Other general expenses of the city are expected to be reduced accordingly. Only $5 was lopped off the street light appropriation from the amount spent this year, and j water works and irrigation shows an increase over 1932 of $200. This, according to George E. Miles, recorder, is accounted for by the installation of the chlorinating chlo-rinating system, and other sanitary sani-tary improvements. The amounts appropriated, compared to this year's expense, follow: Contingent fund -$7506; 1932. $8605. . Water works and irrigation $10,750; 1932, $10,550. Streets- $1S00; 1932, $2100. Street lighting '$1570; 1932, $1575. Sewers and drains $663; 1932, $14S2. Interest on bonds '$1000; 1932, $1090. Total .526, 046;, 1932, ?2S,-312.00. ?2S,-312.00. The total appropriation for 1932 was $2175 less than the amount spent the year previous, which shows that $4441 is to be cut from city expenses in two years'. |
