Show EDUCATORS SPEAK AT P.T.A. MEETING, MANY PARENTS INTERESTED The October meeting of the Ct. George Congress of Parents and Teachers was held Friday evening, October 12th in the Auditorium of the College building. The association had as its guests, the teachers who were here attending the sessions of the County Institute. The speakers! of the evening were, Dr. B. K. Farnsworth, supervisor of Junior and Senior high schools in the state; Hazel Brockbank, Primary supervisor; Etta Scorup, supervisor super-visor of Home Economics and Professor Pro-fessor Mosiah H. Hall, state library li-brary inspector. Perhaps no more instructive Or inspirational talks have been given giv-en in our city than those given by these educators who based their remarks on the theme, "How the Parent-Te'acher Association cap function in a good citizenship program." pro-gram." Dr. Farnsworth confined h i s talk to three main topics. First, the training of tha adult In self-discipline. self-discipline. He said, "You can't expect the children to be good citizens citi-zens if their parents, the adults are not." Second, training the young people for mate-hood. He said, "Instruct the young men and women on the responsibilities responsibil-ities of marriage that their lives may attain the highest degree de-gree of happiness." For his third point he ma'd a plea for the training of the pre-sohool child. He asked that these children be given a thorough examination before be-fore they start in school that they may work under the best possible condition without handicap. Miss Scorup spoke of the statewide state-wide campaign for parent education educa-tion which is being sponsored by the Utah Congress of Parents and Teachers and urged that study ' groups for this purpose be organized, organ-ized, i Miss Brockbank in a stirring talk asked the fathers and mothers moth-ers to familiarize themselves with the state laws that directly concern con-cern their children. The music for the evening was in charge of Mrs. Mae Pace. A violin solo was given by Mrs. V. Christain and a solo dance by Marilyn Cox. Mrs. R.
