Mrs. Isaac Hunt was hostess to the Mothers' reading club Monday, October 29, at 3 p. m., at her home. Mr. and Mrs. George Prisbrey and family returned Tuesday from Pine Valley where they spent the past few weeks. The Dixie College orchestra, under the direction of Prof. E. J. Bleak, played for the dance at Parowan on Wednesday night. Mrs. ' Mina Adams has returned to her home after a three months visit with relatives and friends in Los Angeles, Calif. I Mrs. Amanda Johnson left Monday Mon-day for her home at Provo after visiting vis-iting her mother, Mrs. Paralee Miles, the past three weeks. Mrs. Wallace B. Mathis entertained at her home last Thursday evening in honor of Mrs. Amanda Johnson and Mrs. Ross Douglass. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sullivan left this morning for their home at Provo. Mrs. Sullivan Is recovering nicely from her recent operation. E. V. Gubler of Logandale, Nevada, Alvin Jones of Veyo and Vernon Leavitt of Gunlock were St. George visitors the fore part of the week. Mrs. Annie Milne celebrated her 80th birthday last Saturday afternoon after-noon when twenty guests were entertained en-tertained at the home of her son, Jos. Milne. Four of the guests were over 80 years of age. The feature of the afternoon was the birthday cake on which were 80 candles. Beth, the seven-year-old daughter of v Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brooks, was hit by a swing at the playground last Friday causing injury to the spine and at the base of the skull. The Injury was not regarded as serious until Tuesday noon when she was taken very ill. She is somewhat improved im-proved today. |
