Show OLD STUFF ' . Politicians who have of late been accusing the News of supporting this or that party and of coloring political politi-cal news to suit our own particular fancy are not even original. They are only ridiculous. These accusations are "old stuff" with practically every newspaper in the country, and are always "taken with a grain of salt." Even Joe Carpenter had the same charges hurled at him, as witness the following editorial which appeared ap-peared in the St. George Union on July 11, 1896: No Bolter It is quite amusing to hear some of the politicians accuse us of "bolting "bolt-ing their ranks" because we print our choice for president. We were not aware that we were running either a Democratic or Republican newspaper, for we have repeatedly stated this is an independent sheet, and supposed all our readers understood under-stood us in that light. Notwithstanding Notwithstand-ing our running an independent periodical, pe-riodical, it does not hinder us selling sell-ing space to both the Republican and Democratic parties and allowing allow-ing each to have the space purchased purchas-ed edited in favor of their cause. So, if either or both parties desire to enter into a contract and put up the ready means, we are ready for a deal. Or, we will sell out our plant to either party and then they can have full control.
