Show B WELL STOCKED FOR OPEN! DAY large Number of Fish Are PiaiUal This Year But Higli fir-d Rci'y Water Will Interfere With Catdtes The largest amount of finh for sever T years has been planted in Washington county streams since the close of last sea-on, particularly in the Santa Clara creek in Pine Valls-y, but in general it is feared that fishing fish-ing on the opening day, June 15, will not be especially good on account of high water. Three tank loads of fish have been released this spring between Hunt's ranch and the grove in Pino Yalicy, the first s-hipment of two tanks of 7000 each and the second one tank of 5000 fish, all measuring from five to eight inches in length. Two tanks of 5000 each were rc'eased in the lower Enterprise reservoir and 5000 planted in the Sand Cove reservoir. The best fishing this year, or at least during the first few weeks of the season, should be . t Sand Cove, in the Dixie Power Pow-er company ditch at Yeyo, and above Power plant No. 2. Leeds and Ash creeks have not received fish this year, but were comparatively well stocked at the end of last season and catches' should be fair. Grass valley and the upper Enterprise reservoir are both too high, but there will be a fair chance in the lower body ,of water. wa-ter. The streams- are high and roily and there will probably not be 'much fly fishing. The legal size of fish is seven inches arid longer. A combination combina-tion fishing and hunting license may be bought for $3, while fishing and hunting licenses separately sep-arately may be had for $2 each. Licenses for boys 12 to 1(5 years-, and for women are $1. . |
