Show Edna Fermer Wins Pultzer Prize New York. The annual Pultzer prizes in journalism and in letters for 1924 were announced by Nicholas Murray Butler, president of Columbia university, for the institution's school f journalism. Edna Ferber, for her j novel. "So Big," was awarded the $10c0 prize "for the best American novel published during the year which shall present the wholesome atmosphere at-mosphere of American life and the highest standards of American manners man-ners and manhood." The $500 prize for the "best cartoon published in ' any American newspaper during the ' year" was given to Kollin Kirby of J the New York World for his cartoon entitled.
