Show DISTRICT COURT DOCKETCLEARED Criminal Cases Disposed of and End of This Week Will See a Practically Clear Calendar Te Washington county district court calendar is now in better shape tfaan it has been for many years and by the end of this week practically practi-cally all issues will have been decided. de-cided. Twenty cases were disposed of here this term by District Judges Dilworth Wpoley of Manti and LeRoy H. Cox of St. George. The case of Chas. D. Alsop, plaintiff, plain-tiff, vs. Zion Oil and Refining Co., and Gertrude S. McMullin, is now being heard by Judge Cox and it is expected the action will consume the remainder of the week. This is the last issue to be heard this term. Judge Wooley left Wednesday for his home. Willie Spendlove, charged with carnal car-nal knowledge, was found not guilty by a jury last Thursday evening. The State vs. L. J. Beavers, charged charg-ed with assault with a deadly weapon, wea-pon, was called Friday. He was found guilty by a jury of battery, and on Monday was fined $299 by Judge Wooley. The amount was paid. Ruben Larson, charged with grand larceny, pled guilty to petiN larceny in the justice court and was fined $150 by Justice Karl N. Snow. The case of Jos. J. Milne, E. O. Hamblin, Lund & Barton, trucking Interests, plaintiffs, vs. Prank Cox and Owen Cox, defendants, in which the plaintiffs seek an injunction to prevent the alleged unlawful truck-. truck-. ing by defendants, was submitted on briefs by plaintiffs. Defendants given 10 days to answer. Plaintiffs were represented by Attorneys Sam R. Thurman, Jr., and Ellis J. Pickett; W. H. Knox for defendants. The action of the Dixie Stock-growers Stock-growers Bank vs. Washington County was submitted by both parties by stipulation- and taken under advise--ment by the court. |
