Show LOCAL JUNIORS TAKE SUNDAY'S DOUBLEHEADER Win First Game from Beaver Bea-ver Boys 27 to 1 and Second Contest by a Score of 19 to 3 CLUB STANDING Seventh District. Won Lost Pet. St. George .... 2 0 1.000 Parowan 1 1 .500 Beaver 1 3 .250 The St. George American Legion Le-gion junior baseball team got away to a flying start in the first twTo games of the district competition last Sunday when they defeated Beaver 27 to 1 and 19 to 3. In the first contest the locals garnered 23 hits off two pitchers, while the best the. Beaverites could do was two hits Off Anderson, both made by Hutchings. In the second game St. George gathered in 18 hits, while the Beaver boys were again let down with two. Ed and Dick Lund, alternating at third and pitching, pitch-ing, were as invincible as Anderson An-derson was in the opening game. Beaver has the making of a good ball team, but they lack experience, and this was apparent appar-ent time and again in both games. With the start they havo j made this year they will without j a doubt prove tough competition1 next year. The extreme heat here also affected the players and they did not play the game they are capable of. Davis, their first string pitcher, looked especially, good, and with support, would hold his own against almost any kids' team.
