Show TRAFFICOFFICER'S BODY TAKEN TO SALT LAKE CITY W. H. "Steve" Hendrick-son Hendrick-son Died Monday Morning After Week's Illness With Lobar Pneumonia. The body of W. H. -Steve" Hendrickson, 23 years of age, state traffic officer, who died in the Washington County hospital hos-pital at 3 o'clock Monday morning, morn-ing, was taken to Salt Lake City Tuesday by Henry Pickett, of the Pickett Mortuary, and Owen Lund, patrolman, connected con-nected with the Santa Clara motor vehicle station. Mr. Hendrickson came here about two weeks ago to assist in the establishment of the station. sta-tion. He was then in perfect health. After wri'':Hig two or three shifts he was confined to his room with a cold and a week ago was taken to the hospital with pneumonia. He was an unusually un-usually strong, robust man, weighing over 2 50 pounds. Mr. Hendrickson is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret Hendrickson, and a daughter, Lillian 2 years old, who were here when he died. His father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hendrickson, Sr., were also at the bedised, having come from their home in California. He was a native of Salt Lake City. Although the highway patrol does not have any grade or rank below that of R. Whitney Groo, office head of the patrol, Hendrickson Hen-drickson was generally consid ered the field captain of the group. According to Mr. Groo, who was here recently, he wps chosen to inaugurate the work at the Santa Clara checking Ltation because of bis tact, firmness firm-ness and ability to properly handle han-dle problems which confront the starting of new work. |
