Show RESOLUTIONS Whereas, it is with deep sorrow that we learn of the death of the Hon. Thomas Marioneaux, which occured at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah, on April 2nd 1926. In his death there passed from among us one of the most notable and distinguished citizens if the State of Utah. Judge Marioneaux was born in New Orleans, La., on January 21st, 1867, and received re-ceived his early education in the public pub-lic schools of that state. He came to the State of Utah in 1889. He was admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court of the State of Utah and to the United States District Court in 1S94. He served as District Attorney of the Fifth Judicial District from 1899 to 1900, and was elected as District Judge of said District in 1900 where i he served until 1904, which positions he filled with honor and trust. Upon the death of such a character as Thomas Marioneaux it is appropriate appropri-ate that a public and lasting record be made disclosing the estimation in which he was held by those associated with him officially and personally; and in pursuance with the appointment appoint-ment heretofore made by the Honorable Honor-able court of the Fifth Judicial District, Dis-trict, of the undersigned committee, and in harmony with the sentiments o' its members; Now Therefore: Be it Resolved: That in the death of Judge Marion-Mux, Marion-Mux, there passed to the great beyond, be-yond, a man whose active career in the State of Utah is a precious heritage herit-age of the community. His integrity and ability were duly appreciated and j universally recognized. Whether acting in the capacity as an attorney aua counselor at law, a public prosecutor, prosec-utor, or as a member of the Judicial Tribunal of the State he ever brought ,t0 the performance of his duties his j mst faithful efforts. His honesty of Purpose, the sincerity of his convic-I convic-I 'ions and his personal uprightness ! e unquestioned. ! Be it Further Resolved: That his j life so filled with valuable toil, years t honor, endears him to us, entitled "is memory to be cherished, and in a measure reconciles us to his early departure de-parture from this life. Be it Further Resolved: That we eend to his bereaved wife and family fam-ily our deep felt condolence and sympathy. sym-pathy. Be it Further Resolved: That a .cPy of the above resolution be forwarded for-warded to the family, and that a copy thereof be spread upon the minutes of tlle Court of the Fifth JudiciaJ District Dis-trict as a permanent memorial.
